Several reports from Brazilian users began to emerge this Wednesday (18) indicating that social network X, the old Twittersupposedly back in working order in the country without needing a VPN. Many people were able to access the platform in the country through the mobile app.
The service seems quite unstable and the return is not guaranteed for all users — some say they were only able to access the site via Wi-Fi, while others were successful via mobile data, usually from different carriers. On the browser website, X appears to be completely unavailable for the vast majority of Brazilians.

The social network was suspended in Brazil on August 31 by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), following a measure by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The owner of the platform, Elon Musk, refused to cooperate with court decisions which involved investigating personal data leaks and blocking profiles involved in criminal activities.
On other rival services, such as Bluesky, there is a mix of celebration and regret at the platform's return. In addition, there are several comments that the service never returned for some people.

In the tests carried out by TecMundo This morning (18), the smartphone app and the website for browsers did indeed start updating the news feed again at times, but without stability. In addition, those who are logged out of the app may not be able to access their profile again when faced with a reload screen that does not update.
Is X/Twitter really back?
According to the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), “there was no change in the decision” which keeps X suspended in Brazil. The agency also reported that it is “checking the reported cases“.
O TecMundo contacted the STF press office, but had not received any responses by the time this article was published. For the newspaper Sao Paulo Newspaperthe information was that this is “just an instability in blocking some networks“. Until now, no operator has spoken out about the case.
Some users speculate what X may have taken internal measures to partially circumvent the operators' blocking from changes in the servers themselves. However, for now these are just hypotheses and there is no way to confirm this information with the social network, which does not respond to press requests.
Sage Networks Tech Manager Thiago Ayub, commented on his LinkedIn profile that in fact no measures have been issued that change X's situation in the country.”I suspect that this return of the app is circumstantial, the result of changes in IP addresses and servers. that X uses to communicate with installed applications,” he argues.
According to Ayub, it is not yet possible to determine whether the change “was accidental or intentional on the part of the X administrators“.

In recent days, Starlink accounts were unblocked in Brazil so that the X fine could be paid by the satellite internet company, also owned by Musk. However, This was not the only step to be taken for the return of the social network — the determination should only be lifted after the appointment of a representative in Brazil and compliance with the suspensions required by Moraes.
