After Huawei announced the Mate XT as the first smartphone that folds into three parts, Honor seems to want a piece of that market. According to speculation from tipster Teme via X (Former Twitter), Honor is working on a phone with two hinges measuring just 10 mm.
Developing a product with so many folds is no easy feat, but making a smartphone that’s just 1 centimeter thick when closed is a notable milestone. For comparison, the Huawei Mate XT is 12.8 mm thick when folded, while the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1 mm thick.
Teme did not reveal any additional specifications about Honor's possible foldable. However, considering that the company announced the Magic V3 in recent days, which holds the title of the world's thinnest foldable at 9.2mm, it is no surprise to see the company with such an ambitious project.

Rising market
It's worth reiterating that the world of tri-fold smartphones is something extremely recent. Huawei launched the first one, and brands like Samsung and TCL may also be working on devices with the same mechanics.
Recently, Chinese brand Tecno showed off the concept of a very bold triple foldable. The Phantom Ultimate 2 measures 11mm and uses its multiple folds to offer multiple ways of use.
The triple foldable market is heating up, but it may be some time before Honor announces its thin foldable.
